Ranking of convention towns and cities: Lyon maintains second position at national level

For the sixth consecutive year, Lyon has achieved second place in the UIA (Union of International Associations) ranking, which serves as a reference for towns and cities that host association meetings and conferences.

Lyon reached second place in the ranking thanks to the 38 international conventions it hosted in 2014. The city was also ranked 20th at European level, which is a superb performance, particularly given that Lyon is not France's capital and that the EU's 28 capital cities were all represented. In total, the UIA's statistical reports and rankings compile the results of a database that covers 181 countries and 1493 towns and cities. To be considered international, an event must include a minimum of 40% of international participants.
